POTENTIAL IS PERSON: Teen Coaching
“You are a brand new, never seen before, expression of potential.”
The teenage years are incredibly turbulent as the ego is challenged and boosted regularly with new fears and pressure from parents, school, and friends. Potential insecurities and anxieties can often lead to behavior many of us laugh off as “the teens," but in reality, many young people are suffering during these years. This is partially because they are constantly changing and evolving, and because not everybody learns or develops at the same speed, or in the same way, which can lead to conflict with the standardized norms of their schools, families, and society. In addition, the past few years have disrupted all “normals,” and created new sets of obstacles while heightening old ones. However, even when teens find themselves stuck in a rut, depressed, replaying cyclical, detrimental behavior, they each represent a unique expression of... Themselves.
Day 1 Coaching strives to empower young people to open up to and develop their self-awareness, and devise strategies to actively, and consciously, take part in their own "leveling up” process..." I coach young people to take a more proactive approach towards achieving their greatest potential at every given moment, through the practice of mindfulness, empathy, and self-discipline, which I define, in part, as self-love.
Many of the benefits of teen coaching are often consistent across experiences:
Stronger, more grounded sense of self, and self-worth
Improved relationship with family
Increased social literacy with peers
Better organization, time management, and study skills
Better relationship with the concept of school itself
However, the road to progress looks differently for everyone. With this in mind, approaching each child, young adult , and family differently, is essential to mapping out a path towards greater self-confidence, self-esteem, and grounded purpose, both in present endeavors and responsibilities, and in future ones .
